How Professional Article Marketing Services Use LSI

Article marketing services, and article writing services are some of the best ways in which you can market your website today. Why is this the case? Simply because the major search engines have got wise to the tactics people have been using, and are now becoming stricter than ever, and a whole lot smarter.

For example, you may have heard of Google's LSI, or Latent Semantic Indexing. But what does LSI mean, and how does LSI fit into SEO?

Basically, LSI is a method which is used to identify the context of words and language within a document, especially identifying words and phrases which are very similar or identical with others within the document, and also sorting out those words which could have different meanings and might be misleading.

So, for example, let's say you have an article on your website that you are using to market the idea of shoe polish. Don't worry, it's just an example, and you'll soon see what I'm getting at.

Google's latent semantic indexing is able to achieve two very important things. The first thing it does is to work out that you are selling shoe polish, not Polish shoes, even if the words 'shoe' and 'polish' never actually appear together. It manages this by looking at other words used within the article, and working out the likely context.

If your web content was about Poland, you'd probably have included more words relating to that subject, whereas polish will involve contextually related words, which help Google identify the likely relevance of your page.

But at the same time, Google is able to identify all of the words which mean more or less the same as shoe, such as boot, footwear, sandals, trainers and so forth.

So, we understand what LSI is able to achieve, but why do you need professional article services in order to make sure that your web content works successfully? Effectively because Google uses this algorithm to not only identify the relevance of websites, so that searches are more accurate, but also which websites are stuffed full of keywords.

Google hates keyword stuffing. That's why they abandoned paying any attention to the keywords meta tag years ago. In fact, Google hates keyword stuffing so much that if you include a word or phrase too many times - say, more than 2% of the content, then your web content is going to be demoted, falling so far down the search results list it might as well not exist.

More than 5% keyword density and your site will probably be blacklisted entirely.

Okay, so you just make sure you don't stuff your web content articles full of keywords, how does LSI really impact so much that you need a professional article writing service to do the job?

If you're still asking this question, then the chances are you could well have been making the same mistake that so many other website owners are. By replacing many of the keywords and phrases with semantically similar, or even semantically identical words and phrases, you are not decreasing your keyword density, you are increasing it.

Let's say you chose to include 'clean shoes' 1% of the time in your article. So far, so good. Now you add 'shined boots' - semantically very similar, and so your keyword density may have just gone up. Then you add 'polished shoes', 'polished boots' and so on. I'm sure you get the idea.

Google certainly gets the idea. They use their LSI and quickly realise that your articles are simply replacing one keyword phrase with another, and so they add up all of the semantically equivalent phrases, which probably boosts your overall density to an amazing figure. So amazing in fact that your website just fell off the shelf.

However, all is not lost, because professional article services are available, with professional writers able to create content rich documents for your website, ensuring that they are search engine optimized in a way that takes advantage of Google's LSI, rather than falling foul of it.
